Biography
Studies multi-material additive processes (LPBF and solid-state) with an emphasis on enabling the manufacture of new designs of electric motor components. Other research projects include: In-situ monitoring of laser polishing and friction stir welding using high speed x-ray imaging at Argonne National Lab’s Advanced Photon Source, characterization of fatigue life of laser polished stainless steel, and development of novel solid-state techniques for manufacturing materials that are difficult to process with traditional methods.
